The Tipping Point of Coaching: How to Masterfully Spark Transformation

The Tipping Point of Coaching: How to Masterfully Spark Transformation

What do you do when a client is stuck and you are not sure what to say? This session will look at the power of disruption in coaching, and the courage you need to spark the uncomfortable yet amazing mental shifts needed for change. When you become good at using the “discomfort zone” in coaching, your clients will not only see new possibilities for action, they will remember these mind-stretching moments forever.

In this session, Dr. Marcia Reynolds will first present how breakthroughs occur in the brain. Then she will share the latest research on “therapeutic presence” from a neuroscience perspective and teach participants how they can create this phenomenon for themselves in their coaching. She will also lead a conversation around courage in coaching so participants can identify what might stop them from using these skills. The session will include many examples and methods for coaches to use when their clients are stuck or resistant. It will also include a demonstration exercise so participants can experience for themselves how to listen more deeply so their reflections and questions are more powerful.

Being fully present with your clients means being able to receive signals from the client beyond your brain. Then you need to have the courage to share what you detect even when the coaching feels uncomfortable. Attending this session will help take your coaching to the next level of mastery.

The Opportunity

Understand the most common fears coaches experience—students and experienced coaches—so you can begin today to use your courage to create better coaching results and business success.

Practice listening with your entire nervous system to develop your skills in coaching presence, powerful questioning and direct communication to create more breakthrough moments in your coaching.

You Will Learn
  • Go beyond getting transactional results where the clients make shifts in decisions to getting transformational results where the client’s brain rewires for long term change in perspective and behavior.
  • Practice using your sensory awareness by listening from the three major processing centers in your nervous system so you know what questions to ask that will trigger the brain to formulate a new awareness.
  • Discover your own personal barriers to transformational coaching and courageously break through them.
